Princess Leia and the golden bikini
Marilyn Monroe wore a white dress for the movie The Seven Year Itch in 1955. In the scene Marilyn stood above a subway grate. As a train passed and blew her dress up, she tried to keep it down. The scene and the dress became an icon ever since. Even though the designer William Travilla didn't think the dress was a big deal, it was sold to an unidentified buyer in June 2011 for $5.52 million.
